Short UNIX History

Another nice find on YouTube. The UNIX operating systen explained in 2:12

VoIP over WLAN Project

We did an interesting VoIP project on our site. VoIP is not unusual with wired phones
but our intention was to build a VoIP pbx with wireless phones over 802.11 WLAN and SIP.

Take a look at our slides (in german).

At present we have an installation of 45 accesspoints from Trapeze Networks and about 25 Hitachi WIP-5000 WLAN-VoIP wireless phones working.

DEC VT05 in action

A nice find on YouTube. I like old-school hardware like the famous DEC-Terminals. I've got a old DEC VT240 in the attic but I must admit that this VT05 from 1970 I found on YouTube has a much cooler design:

Heavyweights

I like my good old heavy IBM-keyboad. My RS6000 workstation had one, and since then I never switched keyboards any more. It's a heavyweight, and every keystroke is answered by a characteristic "click". You can type hours without effort or harm and the keyboard is indestructable.
Glad to hear that a similar unit with various layouts can be bought here.

Speeding up portage with cdb

If your emerge --sync seems to last forever, then try out the python-cdb. At least it works for me.

Singing Horses (The Horse Song)

A well known Flash-Animation widespread on the internet, but I couldn't resist.
